Welcome Back Readers,
Have you been stuck in the mundane tasks of going to work, going to school/university, taking care of your children, or looking after a family member (dependent)? Have you lacked excitement in your life or the spontaneity of it? As we grow as adults and begin having a more rigid schedule, it is very easy to fall into this trap of life. It has happened to the best of us, so in order to bring that excitement back, you must be intentional about it. It does not need to revolve around needing to leave the country you are in, but I am pretty sure there is a lot of beauty to be discovered in the country you are currently in that you have not yet discovered.
1) Look for events on Eventbrite –

Eventbrite is the best way to attend new environments, gain more exposure, and meet new people. They have a plethora of events, classes, and courses to choose from. If you are a business-oriented individual, then attending the networking events available or events within a specific industry will help you meet and network in ways that your normal 9-5 job would not grant you access to. If you are a creative, there are multiple events for you, from networking events, mixers, sample sales, fashion shows, dinners, galas, master classes, and courses, etc. If you are someone looking to learn a new skill or improve on a skill, then there are classes available for you.
This is a great way to step outside of your comfort zone and bring some excitement back into your life. Most of the events available are free, but some do require a fee depending on what the event entails. But as I see it, it is worth the investment as you are doing something for yourself/fun, which will have a rippling effect on all the other activities in your life and your outlook on life.
2) Sign up for a class or course –

Sign up for a class that you are naturally not interested in. For example, if you are not a dancer or you have two left feet, sign up for a ballroom dancing class or a Zumba class. If you are not an artistic person, sign up for a painting, drawing, pottery, or sculpting class. This level of the unknown and spontaneity will change your outlook on life and increase your excitement in life, as it is something that your mundane routine would not include. You do not need to become a professional dancer or artist, but this could be a hobby of yours.
3) Go on solo dates to random parts of the city you are currently in –

Going on solo dates is the best way to get back in tune with your life and yourself. It allows you to explore bits of your city and tackle your insecurities and social anxiety. When you go to the cinema/theatre, diner, café, museum, shopping, or concert by yourself, you are going against social norms, and as a result, it forces you to confront your inner insecurities and anxieties. It forces you to socialize with others, having to deal with people staring at you (or the perception that they will be staring at you).
This is a great way to do the things that you enjoy and to explore the world for yourself instead of through another person’s viewpoint or lens. It helps you to feel more comfortable with yourself and your right to be seen. It allows you to become more independent and more self-reliant instead of needing other people’s approval to attend somewhere, and it enables you to have confidence in your own judgment.
