Welcome Back Readers,
The desire to level up and become a better version of oneself is a universal aspiration shared by many. Each individual seeks to fulfill their destiny, striving to carve out their own path and journey towards personal fulfillment. However, the pursuit of these goals is often hindered by the tendency to compare oneself to others. When one becomes fixated on the progress and achievements of others, it is easy to lose sight of their own unique trajectory and veer off course. This diversion leads to a misguided pursuit of another person’s destiny, resulting in a sense of unfulfillment and aimlessness.
It is crucial to remain focused on one’s own path and refrain from measuring personal success against that of others. Comparing and judging one’s current position in life relative to another individual’s can create the illusion that they are running full speed ahead on their designated track while you are merely strolling along on yours. This comparison, however, fails to account for each person’s distinct journey and the diverse routes taken towards a shared or individual destination.
In order to be in competition with you and you only you must:
1. Set smaller goals towards your bigger goals that are able to be tracked daily/weekly.
By setting specific and easy-to-measure targets, you can accurately track your progress every day and week. This method helps you identify areas where you may be struggling or falling behind, as well as areas where you are doing well. It’s a useful way to stay alert about both your challenges and achievements. It not only gives you a better understanding of your overall journey, but also lets you acknowledge and celebrate the small steps you take each day and week as you strive to reach your goals. This increased awareness of your progress can motivate and strengthen you, leading to a more focused and purposeful pursuit of your objectives.
2. Celebrate your small wins.
It’s important to acknowledge and appreciate small achievements because they show progress and development. Each small victory is like a building block that helps you reach your larger goals. Recognizing and celebrating these small successes helps to stay motivated, build confidence, and believe that you can be successful. Focusing only on big achievements can make you feel inadequate and frustrated. This way of thinking can make it seem like you’re not making progress on your main goal. By taking a moment to recognize and celebrate small wins, you can change how you see your progress and see that you’re moving forward.
In short, embracing and celebrating small wins helps you appreciate the journey and have a positive and proactive attitude. It helps you see your consistent efforts, and the value of working hard and not giving up. This can make you feel fulfilled and grateful, and give you the motivation to keep going and succeed.
3. Heal your trauma and insecurities.
The process of healing from trauma and insecurities is a profound journey that can deeply impact how we see ourselves and interact with the world. When we carry trauma, it can lead to always seeking approval from others and feeling like we have to compete with them. These feelings often come from thinking that our unhappiness is because of our insecurities. But as we start to heal and deal with these insecurities, something amazing happens. It’s like a heavy burden has been lifted, and we begin to see ourselves and the world differently. Healing can bring a new feeling of accepting ourselves and a change in how we see things, which helps us have a more positive and strong outlook on life.
During the healing process, many people find strong sources of help and advice. For me finding my faith played a crucial role in my journey. I found comfort and strength through my belief in Jesus Christ. This faith not only gave me a sense of love and acceptance but also a deep understanding of my own worth and who I am. This powerful realization can be seen in the strong certainty and strength expressed in the statement, “Now nothing and no one can shake me as I know who I am.”
4. Begin working on yourself.
Self-improvement is an essential aspect of personal development. Engaging in self-work allows individuals to redirect their attention from external influences towards their own goals and aspirations. It provides an opportunity to prioritize personal growth and well-being. By focusing on areas such as physical fitness, nurturing one’s faith, expanding knowledge through reading and learning from podcasts, and tending to overall health and wellness, individuals can embark on a journey of self-discovery and fulfilment. Additionally, dedicating time to cultivate one’s career and nurture meaningful relationships contributes to a well-rounded and purposeful life. This process of continuous self-improvement enables individuals to focus on their unique journey, empowering them to progress towards their ultimate destination.
5. Detach yourself from the things that are putting you in constant competition.
The things that are putting you in a constant state of competition with others need to be minimized or demolished. Whether it be social media, where you are constantly being exposed to people’s lives across the world, displaying the amazing aspects of their lives daily. By taking frequent social media breaks, unfollowing people, or deleting your social accounts, you can gain a sense of control and create a more positive online experience for yourself. Social media can often amplify feelings of inadequacy or provoke negative comparisons with others. By reducing your exposure to these sources, you can cultivate a healthier relationship with social media and realign your focus on your own well-being and accomplishments. Remember, it’s okay to prioritize your mental and emotional health by creating boundaries that support your overall happiness and self-esteem.
