How To Be Stylish On A Budget

FASHION

Welcome back Readers,

If you know me then you’d know that I am a fashionable girly and I love clothes but in the state of this current economy, it is important to be wise with your finances whilst remaining stylish.

Please don’t run your whole pay check on clothes and have the bailiffs looking for you whilst crying in your new bag.

I love a good spending spree and stacking up the items in my wardrobe and spoiling myself, but you got to be smart about these things as it is very easy to be swept away with the mess.

Here are some steps and tips that I have come up with that may help you and your shopping habits.

1. Finding your personal style

Your personal style holds the keys to staying on a budget and rarely straying off course when it comes to your style. In my opinion a personal style is the equivalent of going grocery shopping with a list. It allows you to go into the clothing store with a clear vision of what it is you want and need.

Whereas when you go shopping without one you can easily be blindsided and pick any and everything that catches your eyes or is currently trending. Which then causes you to have things in your wardrobe that you will never wear, are not flattering and not you.

2. Vinted

Once you know what your personal style is, sites such as Vinted and Depop are a great way to purchase the items that you want for a more affordable price and grab items which are no longer on the shop floors.

Yes, some items are pre loved but some are brand new and never worn but the seller just missed the return date etc.

I am glad that is no longer a stigma towards shopping pre loved, as I have been able to get my hands on the coolest pieces of clothing.

3. Check out Charity shops/shopping second hand

This is another preloved option to take into consideration but this requires a lot more work and luck than sites such as Depop and Vinted as item you are looking for might be there or it might not.

The amount of unique items you can find here is unbelievable and also the vintage pieces that you can find.

Don’t sleep on charity shops, but it depends on where it is located. As some charity shops have nothing inside and others have a great selection of products for a decent price.

4. Tk maxx

This is an all time favourite of mine. With Tk maxx what ever it is that you are looking for is inside the rail, you just have to keep searching.

You can find almost anything from clothes to home to stationary at Tk maxx especially if it is a big store. The items in this store are also unique can be at a more affordable price then it would be on the brands department store.

5. Buying good quality products when you can

Good quality items will last you longer, fit you better and can be worn repeatedly. These can be more expensive than their counterparts but start off by purchasing items that you will get the most wear out of such as coats, tops, trousers, shoes etc. and then build your way up.

Once you start purchasing higher quality items you will most definitely tell the difference.

It will truly help you to stay stylish on a budget.

6. Reducing the number of trendy items you purchase.

By reducing the amount of trendy pieces you purchase. It will aide you to not need to shop every day/week for a new item. This will allow you to purchase pieces that you know will fit into your wardrobe aesthetic and get more tlc.

Whereas constantly purchasing trendy items will cost you more money trying to keep up with the jones’s and the trendy items may not look nice on you and (compliment) your body shape. This can then lead you to feeling insecure and ashamed of your body etc.

But by purchasing clothing that look nice on your body, you can get the most possible wear out it, you will look more confident and happy in yourself and your clothes.
